Chef Jeffrey Bricker will prepare a gourmet brunch featuring food items grown and sold from a 100-mile radius surrounding central Indiana at the 100-Mile Brunch with Ivy Tech on Nov. 5.
Seats still remain for next week’s final Prairie Plates event at Conner Prairie that will feature the work of a decorated chef at Ivy Tech and a group of his students from the school’s hospitality administration program.
Those who attend the 100-Mile Brunch with Ivy Tech on Nov. 5 will enjoy a gourmet brunch featuring food items grown and sold from areas a short drive away from central Indiana. The event starts at 11 a.m. at Conner Prairie, located at 13400 Allisonville Road in Fishers.

John Stewart has portrayed the Headless Horseman at Conner Prairie for nine years. This season, his son, Andrew, rides with him for the first time.

John Stewart has ridden as the Headless Horseman for nine years. But this year is extra special. His 20-year-old son Andrew is riding with him for the first time.
For many years, Andrew has been a groundsman for his dad, one of the people who accompany Headless Horseman riders and keep things running smoothly. “We always have a fun family time,” John said.
John and his family, who live in Noblesville, have been Conner Prairie members for many years. They have a hobby farm, so riding in Headless Horseman seemed like a natural fit. “We fell in love with everything,” he said. “It was a pretty easy decision.”
Beautisha, played by actress Sarah Latimer, is a crowd favorite at Conner Prairie’s Headless Horseman festival.
Beautisha has been played by actress Sarah Latimer at Headless Horseman since 2013.
Outside her character, she is an administrative assistant in the nuclear testing department at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Originally from Indianapolis, Sarah is the daughter of two florists and has six brothers.

Ed the Mad Scientist, portrayed by actor Preston Dildine during Conner Prairie’s Headless Horseman festival, is a popular draw at Conner Scairie.
Preston Dildine started working at Conner Prairie four years ago, as Ed the Mad Scientist during Headless Horseman.
He was recently hired as a part-time interpreter. Before that, he co-operated a dinner theater. He’s also worked as a ballroom instructor and is an actor, director and play write. Originally from Mace, Ind., Preston graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in theater.

Mark Cashwell is in his second year of portraying Dr. Acuala at Headless Horseman. He is also in an ensemble at ComedySportz and works part-time at AutoVin in Indianapolis.
Originally from Tompkinsville, Ky., he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theater from Berea College in Berea, Ky. He has lived in Broad Ripple for the past seven years.
