More than 550 museum stores throughout the world will be offering consumers a special shopping experience on Nov. 26. And the Conner Prairie Store is one of them.

Shoppers can expect a little more from the store on Museum Store Sunday.

The inaugural year of this campaign is inspired by the special shopping experience that museums offer their visitors in their one-of-a-kind stores. Museum Store Sunday is built around the idea that the shopping experience supports the missions and programs of each participating museum and cultural institution. Museums from all U.S. states, 10 countries and three continents are participating.

Unique Conner Prairie items, like these 1859 Balloon Voyage ornaments, are available in the Conner Prairie Store.

Conner Prairie Store Manager Elaine Molin said the store will be stocked with items everyone in the family can enjoy, especially with the holidays approaching.

“We have so many things that make great gifts, especially the large assortment of food, toys, and jewelry that are made right here in Indiana,” Molin said. “We have everything from winter clothing accessories to old-fashioned toys that don’t require batteries.”

A few items in the Conner Prairie Store will be given away on Museum Store Sunday, including four Chala totes and wooden pencil holders that children can decorate.

Pottery made by Conner Prairie staff make excellent holiday presents.

Molin said the store is offering custom gift baskets for the holidays and 20 percent off all Little House on the Prairie books, dolls and accessories.

“The in-house pottery made at Conner Prairie is also very popular and makes wonderful gifts,” she said. “Smaller things, like rock candy, make for great stocking stuffers.”

As always, Conner Prairie members get a 10 percent discount in the store and there is no admission fee to shop at the store.

On Museum Store Sunday, the Conner Prairie Store will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The store is located inside the museum’s Welcome Center, located at 13400 Allisonville Road in Fishers, Ind.
