Up close: A conestoga wagon built in 1797, part of Conner Prairie’s collections

Last week, we shared the story of 89-year-old Sara Wood, who recently told her family that she wished that she could see in person an old wagon that her ancestors traveled in when they relocated from Pennsylvania to Indiana in 1847. The wagon is part of Conner Prairie’s collections.

Here are some images of that wagon, which is a conestoga wagon, named after the Pennsylvania town in which it was built in 1797.
